Development status of fine chemical enterprises

At present, most of the fine chemical enterprises in China are backward in equipment, the technology research and development cycle is too long, the research and development efforts are insufficient, the capital investment is insufficient, and a perfect innovation system has not yet been formed. There are very few practical fine chemicals, and the innovation is not high. No core competitiveness has been formed.

Analysis of supply of fine chemical products

The “Twelfth Five-Year Plan” issued by the state stated that by 2015, the domestic fine chemical self-sufficiency rate needs to reach more than 80%, and as far as the current fine chemical industry self-sufficiency rate is concerned, a large amount of capital and technology investment is still required. Due to technical and other reasons, domestic progress in the new field of fine chemicals and new chemical materials has lagged slightly. The self-sufficiency rate in the fine chemical industry in new areas in China is 70%-75%, and the self-sufficiency rate in the fields of electronic chemicals and other fields is less than 50%. In the field of new chemical materials, the self-sufficiency rate in China is only hovering between 55%-60% between. In these high-tech fields, the more high-end and important products, the lower the domestic self-sufficiency rate.

Not only that, the structure of my country's fine chemical products is not very reasonable. At present, domestic new chemical materials are mainly low-end products, while medium and high-end products mainly rely on imports. The new chemical materials produced in China are mainly general-purpose products, and there is a lack of special-purpose products for market segments. In addition, the market for some environmentally friendly products is still in the early stages of development. Because my country has not yet imposed an environmental tax on non-biodegradable ordinary plastics. Compared with traditional plastics, degradable plastics use a higher cost, and the market of degradable plastics is still in the early stages of development; as a developing country, the ODS alternatives currently used in China are still mainly HCFCs that have less damage to the ozone layer. In the future, it is necessary to gradually replace it with HFC which has no destructive effect on the ozone layer.

It is precisely because of the above-mentioned shortcomings that my country's fine chemical industry will have more development prospects in the future. As more and more multinational companies invest in and build factories in China, the continuous expansion of the scale and the introduction of advanced preparation technology will inevitably bring about a continuous increase in the supply of my country's fine chemical market.

According to statistics, in 2015, the total industrial output value of my country's fine chemical industry was about 37021 billion yuan, an increase of about 10% over 2014. According to the current development momentum, it is expected that by 2021, the total industrial output value of the industry will reach about 5.9 trillion yuan, and the room for growth is still relatively large.
